The Triple Solar® PVT heat pump is a revolutionary improvement on three points, compared to the regular water-to-water heat pumps that are used for PVT solar systems so far.
- All energy that is generated with the Triple Solar® PVT solar panels for this PVT heat pump from daylight, sunlight and outside air (-20 to +50 °C) is optimally used for heat or hot tap water.
- Thanks to the modern, environmentally friendly refrigerant propane, explicitly suitable for this wide operating window, and an output of 3.5 kW, up to 80% of gas savings can be made on heating and domestic hot water production.
- The Triple Solar® PVT heat pump is extremely compact (83 x 48 x 45 cm), weighs less than 50 kg and can be carried to the attic or basement in two 25 kg pieces. Regular heat pumps weigh 100-120 kg and it’s not legal to move them without a hoist, according to health and safety laws.
CEO Cees Mager: “Hybrid is the future. We provide the method to save gas step by step. As a result, the Netherlands (& the rest of Europe) can start to make heating more sustainable today, instead of having to wait another fifteen years or so until all homes are finally suitable for gasless heating.”
About the Triple Solar® PVT system:
The Triple Solar heat pump is expandable from a hybrid application with gas boiler to an all-electric installation without gas. The heat pump has a built-in facility to make hot tap water.
In new build, the PVT heat pump is suitable for smaller houses and flats up to 100 m2. The compact dimensions make the heat pump suitable for building into a cabinet, eliminating the need for a separate technical room. The heat pump is modular in design. For larger houses, two can be installed in cascade.
The refrigerant propane is a first for this type of water-to-water heat pumps. Propane is not only environmentally friendly (GWP=3), it also enables an inlet temperature of +70 ˚C. That is ideal for existing buildings where radiators are often still used.
Another special feature of the Triple Solar® PVT heat pump is the option of cooling. This is especially important for new buildings because of the new standard in The Netherlands for preventing overheating of homes in the summer.
An annual service is not necessary. This way, the costs can be kept as low as possible. Maintenance is only carried out if it is necessary on the basis of monitoring.
Three Triple Solar® PVT solar panels provide the source of energy for the hybrid heat pump, eliminating the need for a noisy outdoor unit.
