Challenges for the new build projects
There is a clear starting point for the new construction: the building permit. And with the building permit come the requirements for the heating installation.
The government has decided in the climate agreement that from now on only fossil free construction is allowed. That is the very first requirement. Local regulations can also determine whether drilling is allowed and whether an air/water heat pump can be used due to the expected noise pollution. The newest requirement that will come into effect in 2020 is the BENG, the package of requirements for an Almost Energy Neutral Building. Until then we use the EPG (the Energy Performance of a Building) which is expressed in a report mark, the EPC.
