The compact and economical Thermal Battery

The Triple Solar Thermal Battery is fast, energy-efficient and space-saving. It is combined with the Triple Solar PVT heat pump and replaces the hot water cylinder. Compared to a traditional hot water cylinder, the Thermal Battery is up to four times smaller and therefore fits into any home.

What is a thermal battery?

A thermal battery is also known as heat storage or thermal energy storage. Unlike electric batteries, the battery uses PCM technology. This does not store electricity but heat. The stored heat can be used at a later time to make hot water directly. This eliminates the usual hot water storage in the boiler that causes a lot of heat loss.

What distinguishes our battery from other thermal batteries is the lack of a heating element. After all, that is already in the PVT heat pump. As a result, our battery is not only more compact but also cheaper.

How does a thermal battery work?

The Triple Solar Thermal Battery contains a material called Phase Change Material (PCM). At a certain temperature, the material changes its form (phase), e.g. from solid to liquid. The PCM is heated by the PVT heat pump. The Thermal Battery stores that heat and can immediately release it at any time to make hot tap water. The battery can infinitely charge and discharge without loss of efficiency.
