Thermal battery

Compact, efficient heat storage

The Triple Solar thermal battery is fast, energy-efficient and space-saving.

It works alongside the Triple Solar PVT heat pump and replaces a traditional hot water cylinder.

Compared to a standard cylinder, it is up to four times smaller — making it suitable for almost any home.

With no wear-prone components, only minimal maintenance is required.

Warmwateroplossingen op maat voor elke warmwaterbehoefte in huis.

What is a thermal battery?

A thermal battery, also known as heat storage or thermal energy storage, replaces a traditional hot water cylinder. Unlike electrical batteries, it uses phase change material (PCM) to store heat instead of electricity This stored heat can be used later to produce hot water instantly. Because there is no stored hot water, heat loss is significantly reduced. What sets our system apart is its efficient integration with the PVT heat pump.

Key benefits

High efficiency

Stores and releases heat efficiently with minimal energy loss.

Low-maintenance

No complex or wear-sensitive components.

Legionella-free

No stored water means no risk of legionella.

Fast and efficient

High heat absorption and release with minimal energy loss.

Space-saving

Up to four times smaller than the cylinder it replaces.

10-year warranty

Reliable performance with long-term peace of mind.

How the thermal battery works

A thermal battery stores heat for later use. Instead of electricity, it stores heat, which can be used whenever needed – for example, to provide hot water.

A thermal battery stores heat and makes it available when needed. Instead of using energy immediately, heat is stored temporarily and later used to provide hot water.

Inside the thermal battery is a phase change material (PCM). This material stores heat by changing phase at a specific temperature — for example, from solid to liquid.

During the phase change, the heat remains stored in the PCM. Heat loss is minimal, allowing it to be retained for an extended period

When hot water is required, the PCM releases the stored heat in a controlled manner, which is then used directly to produce hot water.

After releasing the heat, the PCM returns to its original phase. The thermal battery is then immediately ready to be recharged.

This process can be repeated indefinitely, without any noticeable loss of efficiency. This makes the thermal battery suitable for daily, long-term use.

The right size for every household

The thermal battery is available in three sizes, depending on your hot water needs.

Model Available hot water (40°C ) Dimensions  (L x B x D) Recommended flow
150 55°C (80%): 151 liter*  | 60°C (85%): 128 liter 64 x 36,5 x 57,5 15 liter/min
200 55°C (80%): 227 liter* | 60°C (85%): 192 liter 87 x 36,5, x 57,6 20 liter/min
300 55°C (80%): 302 liter* | 60°C (85%): 256 liter 105 x 36,5 x 57,5 25 liter/min

*Calculated based on standard assumptions: hot water cylinder at 55°C, cold water at 10°C, 80% usable volume.
