Swimming pools are under pressure due to high operating costs due to high energy costs. Swimming pool De Welle in Drachten shows with this project that saving and generating sustainable energy can go hand in hand!
Together with Royal Damstra Installatietechniek, Triple Solar supplies an energy-efficient PVT heat pump solar panel installation to the swimming pool.
The solution
Generate electricity and heat
In addition to the 1182 solar panels, 256 Triple Solar PVT solarpanels have been installed on the roof of the large 50-meter pool. These panels generate electricity and heat. A combination that is suitable for a swimming pool because the Triple Solar panels ensure that gas is also saved on the largest energy component of a swimming pool.
Saving gas, electricity and CO2
The system will save around 60,000 m3 of gas and 350,000 kWh of electricity annually. This is equivalent to the energy consumption of approximately 118 households. Moreover, the Welle swimming pool saves around 235,000 tons of CO2 with the solar panels and the Triple Solar panels.
