This is your role
You will join the Triple Solar R&D team consisting of 10 colleagues. During your internship period, you will be participating in the sprint-cycle of the software developers. Other team members have expertise in mechanical design and industrial product development. In your day-to-day work, you will collaborate with colleagues from Service, Sales, Partner Enablement, and the German team.
We expect you to start with a stakeholder analysis, where you will investigate the wants and needs of our colleagues and customers. After conducting this research, you can start your design process.
This is what you’ll do
Triple Solar built a beautiful heat pump and have a great platform to setup and monitor them. However, the inbuilt 3,8” portrait touch display has not received the attention it deserves. At this point we simply show a list of measured values. To make the product fitting to our brand, we need a UI that is pretty, intuitive and complete.
We would like to invite you to come up with a UX design for the touch display that is visually attractive and fitting to the brand. The design should include a menu structure that allows the heat pump to be set up and monitored in the absence of an available data connection. We need a design that is simple and reassuring for the occupants of the home: at a first glance they would like to see the health and status of the heat pump and be able to adjust a few settings. Simultaneously, it should be sophisticated enough to allow complex settings for installers and enthusiasts who want maximum flexibility.
The outcome of your internship is a design proposal for the complete heat pump touch display UI, including home screen, animations and graphics and a menu structure. The proposal should be ready to be implemented by our software team.

Triple Solar is the inventor of the PVT heat pump without an outdoor unit, an innovative heating system that uses solar energy and heat from the outdoor air to sustainably heat homes. Our goal: maximum impact in reducing CO₂ emissions by making sustainable heating accessible to as many people as possible.

- You are currently studying Industrial Design Engineering, UX / Front-end Design or a similar study at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level
- You are available starting September 2026
- You are available for a minimum of 4 days per week
