The Museum has an ATES (Heat Cold Storage) installation with a closed source of 36 loops.
The temperature of the well became too low in the winter and the well did not regenerate sufficiently in the summer. This made the heat pump inefficient and consumed too much electricity.
Heijmans was commissioned by the Museum to adapt the installation with a Triple Solar PVT heat pump panel energy roof for regenerating of the ATES heat cold storage source. It was also decided to expand the installation with a substantial amount of PV in order to generate more electricity for own use.
