The Museum has a ATES (Heat Cold Storage) with a closed source of 36 loops.
The temperature of the well became too low in the winter and the well did not regenerate sufficiently in the summer. This made the heat pump inefficient and consumed too much electricity.
Heijmans was commissioned by the Museum to adapt the installation with a Triple Solar PVT heat pump solarpanel energy roof for regenerating the source. It was also decided to expand the installation with a substantial amount of PV in order to generate more electricity for own use.
